How it works
A filing process with fewer loose ends.
FEIE preparation is easier when travel dates, residence facts, income, and prior filings are organized in the right order. Here is what to expect from the first inquiry onward.
01
Share the essentials
Use the inquiry form to identify the tax year, where you live and work, your type of income, and the main filing question. Do not send tax documents or sensitive identifiers at this stage.
02
Confirm scope and fit
The initial facts are reviewed for the foreign tax-home requirement, likely qualifying test, income type, timing, and whether the matter stays within the FEIE-focused service.
03
Organize and prepare
If the engagement moves forward, you receive a focused request list and a secure way to exchange the records needed to support the analysis and preparation.
04
Resolve and review
Open questions are worked through before completion. The final review explains the FEIE treatment, relevant limits, and any issues outside the preparation scope.
Good for a first inquiry
High-level facts that help with triage.
- Country where you live now
- Tax year or years involved
- Employee, contractor, or business-owner status
- Approximate move and travel timeline
- Whether a U.S. return has already been filed
Keep out of the form
Sensitive records wait for a secure channel.
- Social Security and taxpayer identification numbers
- Tax returns or wage statements
- Bank and account details
- Passport or identity documents
- Exact account balances or login credentials
Begin at step one
Share the essentials for an initial review.
Tell us where you live, how you work, and which tax year you need help with. We’ll use that context to assess whether the service is a fit.
